Cheryl Gonzales, National Director
A native of Jacksonville,
Florida, Cheryl is the newest director of
Shoresh USA. After ten years in banking, she
became a successful mortgage loan officer, a
career that also lasted ten years. An industry
slow-down and a timely call from God launched
Cheryl into a series of events that would lead
her to serve as an administrative assistant to
the Crusade Director when the Billy Graham
Crusade came to Jacksonville. God used this
position to connect Cheryl with church leaders
throughout her city, preparing her for her work
with Shoresh USA.
Cheryl joined the staff of
Shoresh USA in January 2001. Since coming on
board with Shoresh, Cheryl has been teaching the
Jewish roots of the Christian faith in churches,
conferences and other venues. She has written
curricula on the Feasts of the Lord for both
adults and children, and is currently
coordinating Feast Celebrations, giving
Christians an opportunity to observe God’s
Feasts at His appointed times. In addition to
teaching, Cheryl is actively involved in her
local Jewish community, sensitively bearing
witness to the Messiah while seeking to build a
bridge between the Christian and Jewish
communities. Cheryl is happily married to
husband David who actively supports her work
with Shoresh. |
The Shoresh board of directors is
composed of members from various denominations.
Each brings a variety of gifts as well as their
own unique ministry to Shoresh. Each member
plays an active role in the ministry of Shoresh,
volunteering their time, talent, and treasure
beyond measure.
Sheron
Willson, Chairman
Sheron is a native of
Jacksonville, Florida and very active in her
community. Professionally, Sheron has been in
Real Estate for 10 years and is currently the
Director of Training for Prudential Network
Realty of Northeast Florida. Prior to Real
Estate, Sheron was in hospital management
for years and owned her own business for
years prior to that. Sheron is married with two
grown children and three grandchildren, all of
whom she is very proud.
As chairman, Sheron is active in
the ministry beyond the typical duties of
chairman. She lives the mission, sharing the
Shoresh message in all her endeavors. Sheron
is not only dedicated to sharing her
relationship with God in the marketplace, but is
also called to children’s ministry. As one of
the Kids’ Church leaders at her church,
Sheron finds fun and interesting ways to share
the Jewish roots of our faith with children as
she teaches them Scripture.
The Rev. Neil
Lebhar, President
Neil is the Rector of Church of the Redeemer on
Southside Boulevard in Jacksonville, where he
and his wife Marcia have served since 1988.
They have four children and three
grandchildren. The Lebhar’s began volunteering
with Shoresh (then CMJ/USA) in 1982 when they
lived in Fairfax, VA. Clearly, they believe in
this mission. Marcia (the previous director)
is the Executive Director Emeritus. Neil serves
on the boards of Shoresh and our partner
ministry in Israel, Alexander College .
Between the two of them, Neil and Marcia have
led approximately 30 study trips to Israel,
served on the board in varying capacities,
spoken at Shoresh conferences, set up tables,
you name it ~ they’ve done it. Their long
devotion to this ministry affords them the honor
of lovingly being referred to as the parents of
Shoresh.
Mark Brown,
Secretary
Mark, an air traffic controller,
resides in Jacksonville, Florida with his wife,
son and daughter. Mark may be the newest
addition to the Shoresh Board; however, he is
not new to this ministry. His introduction to
Shoresh was a trip to Israel in 1996 with his
then fiancée Karen. Since that time, Mark has
been diligently studying Scripture from its
Hebraic perspective and living out the Truth of
God’s Word. Mark brings a unique gift to
Shoresh in that he is truly a scholar. With his
deep understanding of Scripture, Mark is an
invaluable member of the ministry, making sure
we remain true to our mission and what we
teach.
Henry
Glover, Treasurer
Henry is a native of
Jacksonville, Florida and holds the position of
Parish Administrator at All Souls Anglican
Church. Prior to this position, Henry spent the
majority of his business career at Prudential in
Technology and Management. In addition to his
love for the Lord and the Body, his expertise in
technology and management make Henry a
wonderfully welcome asset to the Shoresh team.
Henry has been married to his wife Evelyn for
almost 32 years. He and Evelyn have one
daughter, Elizabeth. She and her husband Seth
have two wonderful sons (which the sun seems to
rotate around as far as Henry and Evelyn are
concerned). Henry first became interested in
Shoresh Ministries after Cheryl's ministry began
using office space at All Souls Anglican Church.
In addition to being the administrator at All
Souls, Henry is involved with many facets of the
church and its daily life as a part of the Body
of Believers.
Jody Hysler,
Communications Editor
Jody moved from Ohio to
Jacksonville in 1982. Since that time she has
utilized her organizational and problem solving
skills in both secular and non-profit
administration. Jody and her husband, Arnold,
were introduced to Shoresh in 1988 and have been
actively involved with the ministry since 1997
as staff, volunteer and now board member. Jody
is a skilled writer and will serve as an editor
for Shoresh communication. In addition to her
involvement with Shoresh, Jody is on the board
of trustees for Thru the Roof Ministries, Inc.,
a ministry to teens and their families. Jody
also volunteers her time to transcribe for The
Center for Judaic-Christian Studies’ founder,
Dwight Pryor, a respected friend of Shoresh and
a leader in Hebraic Roots teaching. Jody also
writes a quarterly book review for a Christian
publication in Central Ohio. Jody brings a
wealth of ministry experience and connections to
Shoresh.
